This 5-day photography workshop is designed for beginners who want to learn how to operate their cameras properly and make interesting pictures about life around them. The workshop will be a mix of in-class lectures and practical shooting exercises.

• Each participant must have his or her own camera.
• the workshop will be based on compact camera and/or DSLR functions.
• The workshop will be open to a maximum of 15 participants.
• The workshop fee does not include meals.
• Participants must be prepared to work hard throughout the workshop and spend more than 3-4 hours shooting each day!

Workshop will cover the following topics;
• Introduction + history of photography
• Getting to know your camera
• Understanding Exposure (Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO)
• Composition and content
• Visual styles and Master photographers
• Basic street + portrait photography

Fee: Rs.2000 only
(Scholarship for female candidate on local basis: 25% & Scholarship for candidate residing outside Birgunj: 50% – limited seats available)

About the tutor
Sagar Chhetri (b. 1990), is a photographer based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Sagar embarked upon working on visual narratives focusing Socio-political, cultural and environmental issues around him. As per his photographic trainings, he participated in International Photography Program at Pathashala South Asian Media Institute, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2015. He recently received a scholarship from the Danish Ministry of Education and completed a semester on Photojournalism in Danish School of media and Journalism, Aarhus, Denmark. He is currently working with Photo.Circle, a vibrant platform for Nepali photographers. In 2016, he received 2nd prize on photo story category during annual photo competition organized by Photojournalist club Nepal for his recent work.
